2025 WI Craft Member Biennial Exhibition

The exhibition is open to current Wisconsin Craft members as of the date of application.  To renew your membership, or join, go to WisconsinCraft.org/Become-A-Member.

This is a juried exhibition. Artwork entered must be original, crafted by the artist and not shown in a previous Wisconsin Craft Biennial or Plymouth Arts Center exhibition. All work must have been made since the previous Biennial in 2023. Artwork may not exceed 6’x 6’, wall hung pieces may not exceed of 30# in weight, sculptural pieces must be light and stable enough to be easily carried by two persons.Artists are encouraged to offer their work for sale, but it is not required. All sales will be handled by the Plymouth Arts Center with a commission of 35% at the retail price specified by the artist. 

Application fee: $30 for up to three entries. 

Awards: A total of $1,000 will be awarded for First, Second and Third place along with non-monetary Honorable Mention awards at the judge’s discretion.

January 9, 2025 - Jurying 

January 17, 2025 -Notification of accepted works 

February 24-28, 2025 - Shipped artwork due

March 1, 2025, 11:30 AM- 1:30 PM - In person delivery of artwork 

March 7, 2025, 5:00-7:30 pm - Artists’ Opening Reception Friday , Presentation of Awards 6:00-6:30 

April 25, 2025 - Show Closing

April 26, 2025, 10AM-1:30PM - Art pick up

Ahead of completing the application, please compile the following information:

  • Links to your website, Facebook and Instagram pages

  • A description of your materials and process, no more than 250 characters

  • The title, medium and dimensions for each entry  

  • Each entry requires an image of the actual piece of art that you are submitting. No substitutions will be allowed. Works in progress will not be considered for jurying. 

  • Images must be in .jpg format, 72dpi, between 1M & 2M, 1920ppi on the longest side

  • File names must be in the following format: Last name_first initial_ # (example: Smith_J_1);

  • Whether you are willing to transport art, or would like your art transported to the PAC.

DELIVERY OF ARTWORK 

All work must be delivered in person to GALLERY 110 NORTH Saturday, March 1, 2025, 11:30 AM- 1:30 PM, or shipped to arrive at the Gallery the week of February 24-28, 2025.

All transportation and shipping costs for the exhibition are the responsibility of the artist. 

Wisconsin Craft will facilitate carpooling of art to the PAC among participating artists. We cannot guarantee that there will be someone from your region who will be able to transport your art. Please make your offer to transport art or make your request for transportation on your application.

CONDITION OF ARTWORK UPON DELIVERY 

All work must be delivered ready to hang, or assembled and ready to display. Artwork requiring assembly and disassembly is the responsibility of the artist. All artwork on paper must be under Plexiglass or glass and properly wired for hanging unless previously agreed to. If glass is broken upon arrival, a new glass will be fitted and the artist billed for the cost of the glass. To facilitate installation, all artwork should be labeled with the artist's name, titleof work, media, size (as framed) and price. 

The Plymouth Arts Center is not responsible for damage or theft of artwork while in transit. Work will be inspected at the time of check-in to the Gallery. Any damage observed will be recorded and reported to the artist immediately. 

PICK UP OF ARTWORK 

Artwork is to be picked up from the gallery on Saturday, April 26, 2025, 10AM-1:30PM.  Work left at the Gallery more than ten (10) days beyond the closing date becomes the property of the Gallery unless prior arrangements have been made. 

Works shipped to the Gallery may be shipped back to the artist with payment of a $25 handling fee and a prepaid return shipping container for the artwork. For return shipping by FEDEX or UPS please provide a pre-printed label from the carrier to facilitate pickup. 

INSURANCE 

All artwork is covered by insurance while on the Gallery's premises. Any valuations shown are those stated by the lender and may not be considered as insurance claim values. In the event the value is questioned on an insurance claim, values will be based upon fair market value. If no records are available to support fair market value, references to similar works by other artists will be used to establish value. 

SALES 

  • Artists are encouraged to offer their work for sale, but it is not required. All sales will be handled by the Plymouth Arts Center at the retail price specified by the artist. A commission of 35% of the retail price will go to the Plymouth Arts Center. The Plymouth Arts Center will collect and pay the Wisconsin State sales tax on all works sold in GALLERY 110 NORTH. Terms of Payment: Before payment a W9 form, enclosed, must be completed and submitted to the PAC.The Plymouth Arts Center shall pay the Artist proceeds of an artwork sale, less 35% commission, within two (2) weeks following the close of the exhibit. 
CONDITIONS & LIABILITY 
  • Artwork presented for this exhibition MAY NOT have been shownon any previous occasion in Gallery 110 North. 
  • No artwork may be removed from the exhibit once it has been submitted to the show. The Gallery shall have the right to use the works or reproductions of same for catalogue and promotional use. Thesubmission of entries constitutes acceptance of all conditions outlined in these guidelines. 
  • Design and hanging of the exhibit will be the responsibility of the Gallery Exhibition Committee. In the event the artist(s) find it critical to reviewand approve the design and hanging of the exhibit, the artist(s) may reviewthe show once prior to the opening, by appointment. This would typically be done on Thursday of opening week. Once the show is hung, it is our policy that no artwork be moved, relocated ordisplayed in an alternate manner by theartist(s) or any other person who is not one of thegallery designers. 

PUBLICITY

  • In addition to Wisconsin Craft’s promotions, an announcement of the exhibition is sent to all members of the Plymouth Arts Center, placed in the member newsletter, on the website, via Facebook and sent to many news sources. Press releases are submitted to Wisconsin's major magazines, metropolitan Milwaukee publications, state colleges, universities and Wisconsin artists' groups.
